The Tehran Children’s Music Academy interior design creates an inspiring educational environment for young musicians inside Iran Mall. The project combines cultural architecture, acoustic design, and creative spatial planning to support music education for children. Inspired by contemporary concert halls such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the academy introduces a dynamic and playful learning atmosphere where architecture and music interact.

Context & Vision
Located in the heart of the Black Forest, in Neustadt-Titisee, this one-hectare site carries a deep industrial memory. Once home to a bolt and nut factory, the site has been completely cleared of its dilapidated structures to make way for a new chapter. Positioned dramatically on a mountain slope and nestled between the main access road and the river, the project aims to transform this brownfield site into a vibrant, modern residential landmark.

Sectional Strategy & The Sunken Courtyard
Navigating the site’s topography and the need for public interaction, the design utilizes a strategic subterranean approach:
- Level -1 (The Public Realm): This level serves as the social hub of the complex. A large, central Sunken Courtyard brings natural light and fresh air deep into the structure, creating a vibrant atmosphere for restaurants, cafes, and commercial units. This depression not only creates a noise buffer from the adjacent road but also offers a sheltered, lively plaza for both residents and locals. Public parking is also conveniently located on this level.
- Level -2 (The Private Core): To ensure maximum privacy and convenience for the residents, the lowest level is exclusively dedicated to private residential parking, separating resident circulation from public traffic underground.

Volumetric Concept & Residential Design
Rising from the ground floor, the residential volumes are sculpted to maximize the site’s potential. The design employs a play of “Solid & Void”, carving out spaces to allow daylight penetration and creating suspended green terraces. The orientation of the plans is meticulously calculated so that each unit possesses a unique frame of view—either facing the majestic mountain slope or the serene river—blurring the boundaries between the interior living space and the surrounding nature.

Sustainability
Aligned with modern German architectural standards, the project emphasizes environmental responsibility:
- Efficient land use by submerging service and parking functions.
- Passive design strategies to optimize solar gain and natural ventilation.
- Integration of renewable energy sources to reduce the carbon footprint.
